Every new patient is welcomed into our clinic with a first visit to either our Swadlincote branch or our Burton branch. Before coming in for your first visit, you may already have spoken to a member of our team who will have taken some details from you before booking you in for your appointment.
When you come into us for the first time, you can expect it to feel very much like a standard check-up, but we'll be getting to know you a little bit more in order to provide you with the best possible service on the day, and during future visits.
Our team are all passionate about providing each and every patient with kindness, courtesy, patience and the very best in modern dentistry. From your very first call to us, through to your appointments and any treatment or aftercare you might need, you can expect exceptional levels of care. We're here to ensure your experience with us is as convenient, professional and friendly as possible; not just the first visit to us, but every single time you walk through our doors.
On your first visit to us we'll provide you with a thorough check-up and consultation, where you can chat to us about any particular concerns you might have about your oral health, or about any treatments you might be interested in.
We offer all types of routine dentistry as you might expect, including hygienist services, check-ups and fillings. We also offer restorative dentistry such as, crowns, onlays and inlays, dentures and root canal treatment.
We also promote a strong preventative approach to oral care. Our hygienists don’t simply carry out routine ‘scale and polish’ but also provide friendly, ongoing dental education to help you improve your personal care at home.
For those patients who are looking to boost their appearance, we also provide the latest cosmetic dentistry treatments to brighten and refresh your smile, including veneers, teeth straightening, teeth whitening and combination treatments for a complete 'smile makeover'.
When you come into us for the first time, our friendly reception staff will ask you to fill in a form with all of your details so that we can add them on our system and complete your registration. After you’ve completed the form, you will be called in to see one of our dentists who will perform a thorough examination of your teeth, gums and mouth. They may also take some X-rays to check the parts of the teeth that aren't visible to the eye.
If any problems are recognised, they will be discussed with you along with treatment options. It may be that we can provide certain treatments during your appointment, such as fillings and we will always discuss that with you first before going ahead with the treatment.
This check-up is also your opportunity to speak to us about any oral health concerns you may have, or about any treatments you may be interested in.
Once we’ve learned a little more about you and we understand all about your current oral health, you’ll be asked to schedule a further appointment, either for a routine check-up or to begin your treatment plan.
If you have any questions at any time, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to welcoming you to Hughes and Owen!
